This Copper Paint Bangle With Nails is handmade on the Lathe. After the bangle form is complete there is a lot of bench time for secondary operations like painting and inserting the nails. This bangle features a copper patina finish to create the antiquity look. The bangle is a wood sculpture.
The inside diameter is 2 1/2 inches and an outside diameter of 3 1/2 inches. This piece is very unique and influenced by African tribal jewelry. If you are searching for a solid bangle the most effective method to determine your size is by measuring a solid round bracelet you are comfortable wearing.
I began producing wood jewelry in 2010 with wood pendants and necklaces, Next were bangles and pendants followed by earrings. I love making bracelets because there are so many styles and techniques to employ in the design. With this piece I start with a oversized donut and shape the outer edges to a sharp edge. The I drill brass nails randomly into the wood and apply cooper paint and an oxidizer to achieve the patina.
