This Color Pencil Brooch a great Fashion Accessory for a sweeter or coat.
How fabulous is this Colored Pencil Brooch? I cast a block of color pencils in clear resin. The block is cut into smaller sections to create a variety of jewelry items, including earrings, necklaces, bangles and of course brooches. For this pin, I mount a block on a wood lathe. Revolving at a high speed I cut a cylinder. A disk is cut from the cylinder to fit the size of the silver-tone bezel. Then a dome of the clear resin provides protection to the final piece. The size of this pin is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wear it with your favorite sweater, jacket or coat and have some fun with it.
Ask your friends guess what the color dots are. Show this pin to an adult and they will not be able to tell you what the dots are. When you tell them they will respond “Wow.” Ask a child and they will immediately say colored pencils. Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is staying an artist when you grow up.”
