Art Nouveau Ring Holder

Public Domain Artwork for Artists

Art Nouveau Ring Holder is an engraving of a vintage Victorian print.  Designs like these are available in the public domain in vintage books and on wall paper coverings for home decor. The design is laser cut onto a wood platter with a small cavity to hold jewelry on a nightstand.

The process is to laser cut this decorative artwork onto a wood platter.  I turn a square block on a lathe creating the sloping edges on the underside of the platter. Next, I etch the image onto the platter and complete the art with color ink. Finally, I form the center recess which will hold a ring on piece of jewelry.  Leave it in the kitchen so you have a place to secure your ring during food preparation.  This is also a great centerpiece for conversation.

Gift Ideas

If you like Art Nouveau Ring Holder there are more laser pieces in my store.  Some feature US Patent Office applications for an early typewriter and machinery gears as well as historic documents. This is a drawing of an early typewriter where I added a statement above the drawing to reflect upon a current political situation. Freedom Of the Press Platter. These platters will make a great gift for a Fifth Wedding Anniversary which happens to be wood.

There are additional items in my Etsy Shop.

Studio and Website

I design all the items on this website in my studio in Montvale, NJ USA. My primary tool is the Robust wood lathe  This machine allows me to turn a two hundred pound log into a 20 pound stool.  It also supports my jewelry work equally as well with the same precision.  Once a form is complete on the lathe it goes to the workbench where it undergoes a series of processes to enhance the piece.
