Volcano and Forest Bowl this is my interpretation of planet earth developing. There are no flat spots on the bottom so the bowl will wobble with a slight push. Volcano and Forest Bowl features several craft techniques including off center turning, pyrography, carving, decoration with acrylics and finally a protective finish.
It is a one of a kind lathe turned wood wobble bowl featuring forests and a volcano. You can imagine your own story about how the forming of the planet. This is a great desk item and conversation piece. It is a perfect size for the palm of your hand and will act as a stress reliever. It will hold jewelry on a nightstand or can your ring if you sometimes forget where you left it. Keep a wobble bowl in the kitchen if you remove your ring to wash dishes.

Studio
I design all the items on this website at my studio in Montvale, NJ USA. My primary machine is the American made three horsepower Robust wood lathe. This tool allows the flexibility to turn almost anything. I use it to reduce a two hundred pound log down to a 20 pound furniture stool. It is also the tool I use to produce wood jewelry with accuracy. After a form is complete it still requires decoration and finishing with a protective coating. All of these processes happen at the workbench. I may spend more time at the bench than I did making the form. It is here that I may carve, pierce, use stain or paint and even airbrush. The time spent finishing is what separates nice pieces from really good art.
