Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Burl

Description

Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Burl came out of a 800 pound maple burl that I harvested with a friend on a llama farm. My best advice for you if you get to a llama farm and the animals are fenced in with wire do not to go close enough to touch that wire.  It maybe electrified and that is not a fun experience.  The Burl was worthwhile.  Every slice of this burl yields unique patterns of lines and textures.  Picture a beautiful handmade wood bowl similar Vanilla Chocolate Swirl Burl on your table. It is not often that one finds wood with these gorgeous patterns. This bowl is perfect for fruits, salads, candy or simply a display piece for the table. My artist’s signature, Alan Adler is on base. The size of the bowl is 8 inch diameter by 3 inches deep.

What is a Burl?

Tons of character in this  Maple Burl Bowl between the hard wood and the newer growth sapwood. It does not get better than this. What is Burl?  When you see a round bump on a tree that is a burl.  It is highly sought after by all wood workers because of the grain patterns that are exhibited on the finished piece.
