Jack’s Adirondack Chair

This is Jack’s Adirondack Chair.  For a grandchild’s second birthday they receive a theme chair.  Jack is car crazy so this is his Adirondack chair.  The piston and crankshaft legs, the headlights and side fenders are all fabricated on the wood lathe.  This is the third special chair that I have made.  Everyone is challenging and fun to make. The kids look forward to their second birthday to see what grandpa will come up with. I have a feeling these chairs  will become family heirlooms. I can see the care and joy they each get from their chairs.

The seat is covered with genuine Lexus leather from a friend. The backrest features a Volvo insignia which is the car grandma drives.  The arms have a variety on automotive logos that I found in an antique shop along with the vintage headlight lenses.

Here is the link to a chair I made for his sister Charlotte.  Not difficult to guess that her interest is music  Charlotte’s Chair .  In total, five chairs have bee made and most of them have received awards at woodworking symposiums.

Gift Ideas

These chairs are too complicated and time consuming to be made for purchase to the public, but if you are looking for a special gift please take a look in my Etsy shop.

There are also some very cool items in my store on the website.  Let me know what you think.

Studio

Jack’s Adirondack Chair and all of my designs all are from my studio in Montvale, NJ USA. You can be confident that you are purchasing an original Alan Adler item.  I divide my time between the wood lathe where the form takes shape and the decorative process continues at the studio bench.
