3D Collage for Group Show
Louise Nevelson Inspired Art is a 3D Collage in the spirit of the art of Louise Nevelson. The size is 6 x 6 x 1 1/2 inches in a shadow box frame of exotic woods complete with a hanging wire. This hanging sculpture is part of a group show at a Michigan Gallery called Small Pieces. Invited artists were asked to create pieces all the same size at a fixed price. For this piece, I dove into my scrap pile searching for small treasures. Louise Nevelson was a major sculptor of the Twentieth Century. Her work is resides in many museums. Most all of her pieces are black or white and it is easy to recognize her style.

Studio
I design all the items that I offer in my studio in Montvale, New Jersey, USA. Each item is original and limited in production. I do not sell any third party items. The lathe is my main tool. Once the form is complete on the lathe I will take the piece to the workbench where I often spend more time refining the project. I use a variety of techniques to enhance the product. This may include pyrography which is wood burning symbols into the wood, carving, staining, painting and other options.
