Flight Natural Edge Bowl

Natural Edge Style Trend

This Flight Natural Edge Bowl has tons of character with the texture and colors of Cherry wood.  The form features a small diameter pedestal style foot which gives the piece the appearance of lift. I gave this piece the name Flight because it reminds me of an Egret waiting for food to pass in the bay, but always ready to take off in flight. The top irregular shape edge is where the bark was located.  This item was made in a workshop at the David Ellsworth Studio.  The size is 9 x 7 x 4.5 inches with a Tung oil finish.  My signature is on the bottom.

Natural Edge furniture has been around for a long time and is extremely popular now.  I think the current trend is for organic pieces and whether it is a bowl or a piece of furniture I believe this movement will be around for a long time.

Picture a bowl like this on your dining room table containing apples or oranges. It can also be a  Catch-All as a cell phone holder and jewelry keeper for placing items in when you get home or go to sleep..  All you have to do is remember to put the items into the bowl and your life will be easier.
