This is a beautiful large Walnut serving platter.  The grain markings are spectacular.  There is a recessed rim around the entire top edge.  This design feature adds character to the form and makes it easy to lift the platter.  The size is 13 inch diameter by 2 inches high. This walnut piece displays the contrast between the dark older wood towards the center of the tree and the white sapwood that is the new growth near the bark.  
This will definitely be a conversation piece and will make a unique centerpiece in your home.

Keep out of direct sunlight
Minimize exposure to wide swings in humidity levels
Do not wash with water, if necessary use only a damp cloth
Wax lightly with a quality food save wax or oil and buff to restore the luster.  I like beeswax, walnut oil or mineral oil.
