Butterfly Vase is airbrushed and then coated with a high gloss protective finish. The size is 3 1/2 inch diameter by 6 inches tall. The butterfly images are airbrush painted. It amazes me how much this hobby pushes my comfort zone. It is very difficult to find someone to teach airbrushing. So I just had to spend weeks figuring it out. Adjusting the spray, mixing the colors and most important keeping the airbrush from clogging.
This item will be a great addition to any art collection. If you collect art or are just starting out this Butterfly Vase belongs in your collection. Picture it as a centerpiece on a shelf. Surely it will be a conversation piece. My signature, Alan Adler is on the bottom. A deep vase like this is much more challenging than making a bowl. The opening is narrow and the depth is increased. I designed a Steady Rest tool that fits onto the lathe and supports the vase as it spins at high speed. Without the Steady Rest the turning does become dangerous with the wood flying out of the chuck. When that happens duck, pray and take a break.
Butterfly Vase will make a wonderful gift for that special person in your life. You know that wood is the Fifth Wedding Anniversary Gift. Maybe a Birthday Gift, Housewarming Gift, Artist Gift. You may also enjoy looking at some other airbrushed items Autumn Time Falling Leaves

Care for Butterfly Vase
- Keep out of direct sunlight
- Minimize exposure to wide swings in humidity levels
- Do not wash with water, if necessary use only a damp cloth
- Wax lightly with a quality food safe wax or oil and buff to restore the luster. I like beeswax, walnut oil or mineral oil.
