Autumn Falling Leaves Vase is deep wood turned Oak vase.  The size is 4 1/2 inch diameter x 9 1/2 inches tall.  The leaves are airbrushed and then coated with a high gloss protective finish.

My signature, Alan Adler is on the bottom.  A deep vase like this is much more challenging than making a bowl.  I designed built a Steady Rest tool that fits onto the lathe and supports the vase as it spins at high speed.  Without the Steady Rest, the turning can become dangerous with the wood flying out of the chuck.  When that happens duck, pray and take a break.

Care for your Falling Leaves Vase
Keep out of direct sunlight
Minimize exposure to wide swings in humidity levels
Do not wash with water, if necessary use only a damp cloth
Wax lightly with a quality food safe wax or oil and buff to restore the luster.  I like beeswax, walnut oil or mineral oil.
