Ambrosia Salad Bowl

Ambrosia Salad Bowl

Ambrosia Salad Bowl

Handmade on a wood lathe this turned Ambrosia Maple salad bowl features beautiful grain and colorful brown markings. The brown color streaks are created by the Ambrosia Beetle when he infests a maple tree. His cousin, the Box Elder Beetle leaves red streaks in the wood. The little black dots are holes where he enters and exits the wood leaving his artwork behind while unfortunately damaging the health of the tree.

Picture this gorgeous Ambrosia  salad bowl filled with candy, apples or oranges on your kitchen table. This deep bowl is perfect for fruits or any other utilitarian need. Will make a great cell phone and key holder. If you are constantly misplacing your keys and phone then this bowl is perfect as a cell phone holder or jewelry keeper. Just drop the items into the bowl when you get home and your life will be simplified. Picture this Wooden bowl on your dining room table as a great display piece. It is food safe.
The size is 9 1/2 inch diameter x 3 1/2 inches high.
Signed by the artist, Alan Adler on base… that would be me.

Care for your bowl

  • Keep out of direct sunlight
  • Minimize exposure to wide swings in humidity levels
  • Do not wash with water, if necessary use only a damp cloth
  • Wax lightly with a quality food safe wax or oil and buff to restore the luster.  I like beeswax, walnut oil or mineral oil.
