This is a laser-cut image of a vintage Japanese art print. The wood platter is turned on a wood lathe.  The process is to turn a square block of wood.  There are sloping edges on the four underside edges of the bowl. Once the shape is complete the piece go to a laser. The image is then hand painted.  The small recess in the center is to hold a piece of fine jewelry or a ring on a nightstand or is Vintage Japanse This platter is a jewelrys w platteratterr catcht ll-etchingtchnowoodesk accessory. . This is a great centerpiece or display piece. This piece was honored with the First Place Award for Laser Etching on Wood at the Northeast Woodworkers Symposium is Saratoga NY.

Inspired from historic Japanese drawings I have duplicated the vintage image onto the wood. The size is approximately 7 inches by 7 inches by 2 inches high. The finish is food safe.
