I had the opportunity to spend three days studying with David Ellsworth, a Master

Turner, who invented hollow form turning.  The method requires maintaining a

small opening and blindly removing all of the internal wood so that you are left

with a very light weight form similar to a gourd.  The size is 7 x5 with a 7/8

diameter hole and a 1/8 wall thickness.  The wood is Spalted Beech with a Tung oil

finish.
